There are so many great business resources on the internet today, but finding the right information can be difficult. Below is a list of different websites that I recommend.

Federal Information

State Information

Tax Calendar – Important due dates for the current year that most taxpayers, all types of business and for individuals will need.

California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) – You will find information on Seller’s Permit, Sales and Use Tax and Business Taxes (fuel, tobacco and other special taxes).

Internal Revenue Service (IRS) – Issues federal employer identification numbers and administers federal payroll taxes, including social security, Medicare, federal unemployment insurance, and federal income tax withholding.

California Franchise Tax Board (FTB) – They administer personal and corporate income and franchise taxes for the entire State of California.

Electronic Federal Tax Payment System (EFTPS) – A service offered free by the U.S. Department of Treasury to help business and individual taxpayers conveniently pay all of their federal taxes electronically.

California Employment Development Department (EDD) – Issues employer account numbers (sometimes called state employer identification numbers, SEINs, state ID numbers, or reserve account numbers) and administers California’s payroll taxes, including Unemployment Insurance, Employment Training Tax, State Disability Insurance, and California Personal Income Tax withholding.

Social Security Administration (SSA) – Learn how the Social Security Administration can help with your retirement, Medicare, disability, survivorship and other benefit questions.

California State Board of Equalization (BOE) – The BOE plays a roll in California property tax assessment and administration. The BOE also acts as the appellate body for the franchise and personal income tax appeals.

Small Business Administration (SBA) – Programs and services to help you start, grow and succeed.

California State Secretary (SOS) – The Secretary of State’s office is comprised of nearly 500 people who are dedicated to making government more transparent and accessible in the areas of elections, business, political campaigning, legislative advocacy, and historical treasures.
